The Steering Group’s role is to provide guidance and ensure the delivery of the outputs and the achievement of the set goals. Further development of the Safeguarding CoP, through its actions and outcomes, is open to be continually shaped by its members. The members are drawn from the Church eco-system.
The “Toward a Person-Centered Approach to Safeguarding” webinar explores how safeguarding practices can be reshaped to prioritize individuals’ autonomy, voice, and lived experiences. It emphasizes empowerment, collaboration with support networks, and respect for each person’s unique needs, while also addressing the organizational and cultural changes needed to implement this approach effectively. The goal is to move away from a one-size-fits-all model and toward safeguarding that is responsive, inclusive, and led by the individual.
