Welcome to the Jesuit Centre for Safeguarding in Africa!
We are dedicated to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children and vulnerable adults across the continent. As the director of this esteemed centre, I am honoured to welcome you to our community. Whether you are a student, a practitioner, or a visitor, your involvement is not just significant; it’s crucial. We hope you find our resources, training programs, and initiatives invaluable in your efforts to protect and safeguard those in need. Your contribution could tremendously affect the existence of those we serve.
At the Jesuit Centre for Safeguarding in Africa, our mission is deeply rooted in the Jesuit values of compassion, justice, and service. We endeavor to engage people and associations with the information, skills, and support necessary to create safer communities. Our collaborative approach, which we warmly invite you to participate in, aims to raise awareness, promote best practices, and drive meaningful change in safeguarding standards within the Jesuit networks and the wider Church in Africa. Our centre offers a robust curriculum for students that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. We believe that education is a powerful tool in the fight against abuse and exploitation, and we are dedicated to equipping our students with the skills they need to make a positive impact in their communities.
We provide various consultancy services for practitioners and organizations, including risk assessments, policy development, and capacity-building workshops. Our team of experts is here to support you in implementing effective safeguarding measures and creating conditions where everybody can flourish in well-being and dignity.
