This piece explores the role of case management in safeguarding through the lens of a religious perspective. It reflects on the ethical, spiritual, and pastoral responsibilities involved in protecting vulnerable individuals while ensuring justice, compassion, and accountability. Drawing on faith-based values, it examines the challenges and moral imperatives that guide religious figures in handling safeguarding concerns with integrity and care.
The “Toward a Person-Centered Approach to Safeguarding” webinar explores how safeguarding practices can be reshaped to prioritize individuals’ autonomy, voice, and lived experiences. It emphasizes empowerment, collaboration with support networks, and respect for each person’s unique needs, while also addressing the organizational and cultural changes needed to implement this approach effectively. The goal is to move away from a one-size-fits-all model and toward safeguarding that is responsive, inclusive, and led by the individual.
